Duo sat in the diner booth he was beaming, all his friends were
crowded around him expect Hilde, Trowa and Catherine.
"I can you imagine the look on her face when she gets a load of this?"
He said.
"oh, my, I can imagine the shock." Relena commented.
"She'll never expect it." Sally added.
"You better go easy on her, you don't know how'll she'll react." Quatre
said.
"Just tell her Maxwell, it doesn't matter she's a woman." Wufei pouted.
"That dumb beret, might just come flying off her head." Dorothy said.
"Dorothy, that's mean." Relena said but she couldn't help but giggle
she never liked the berret. apparently no else did
because they began to laugh, and make dumb beret jokes. Everyone went
silent, expect Duo then he looked up. Standing
behind him was Hilde wearing a beret followed by Trowa and Catherine.
"Well, speak of the devil..." Duo said a nervous grin on his face.
Hilde scowled and tapped her foot. "I think I'll put some
music on to light the mood." Duo said walking over to jukebox.

Hilde opened the door cordially. "What do think of the new place?" She
asked. Trowa and Catherine stepped in. Catherine
looked around and complimented her on it, Trowa said nothing.
"If you wanted us to see your new place you really didn't have to go
through all the trouble of making lunch." Catherinne
said sitting down at the nicely set table.
"Oh, No problem Duo comes home form work early today anyways I'm used
to it. Besides it's hard to track you guys
down."
"Well, it's going to get a lot easier A talent agent saw my work on
the circus and signed me up to a variety show in town
and now that my brother's a private detective he doesn't roam around as
much." Catherinne giggled.
"Well, I'll finish these sandwhichs and then all we have to do is wait
for Duo." Hilde chirped. She finished the sandwhichs
and waited and waited. The time ticked away on the clock. §he sighed.
"Where is he?"
The phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey ya babe."
"Duo?"
"Yep, it's me. I'm sorry, but they had some extra things for me to do
here I'll be late."
"What about the company."
"Company? Oh, I forgot Trowa and Catherine, well you guys eat now don't
wait for me."
Hilde was about to say good bye when she looked down at the caller ID
box, he wasn't work, that was Relena's number.
What was he doing there? She gasped.
"Hilde you okay?" Duo asked.
"Yeah I'm fine good bye."
"'Bye."
Hilde put down the phone then slumped on the couch, looking pale.
"What's wrong?" Catherine asked.
"Duo he said he was at work but I checked the caller ID box and it said
he was at Relena's." Hilde sighed.
"Why would he lie to me?"
Trowa shook his head and sighed.
"Hilde, I'm in the business, I've this many times before and I think
Duo's cheating on you with Relena."
"Wha? Why? With Relena?" Hilde asked. "We just moved into together and
got this new house, he got a raise. Besides
Relena's married to Heero she would never--" Hilde broke down and began
to sob.
Trowa sighed. "He may be getting scared, Duo doesn't seem like the
kinda of guy who could maintain a committed
relationship. This might seem like added stress a new place, you moving
in together. It takes away from his freedom. And
Relena well she is probably bored with the monotonous Routine of
marriage."
Hilde sobbed even harder.
"Oh, great that really cheered her up." Catherinne sighed.

Hilde removed her hands from her tear stained face. The sadness faded
and in it's place was anger. "Duo Maxwell You
lying cheating no good!" She got up and grabbed thing of his and began
throwing them out the front door.
Catherine went out and began arranging them neatly. "What are you doing
that for?"
Hilde asked.
"I've got an idea." Catherinne giggled she whispered in Trowa's ear
provoking a rare smile and a rarer laugh. Trowa Got
out a sheet of cardboard and a Black Marker he began to Write on the
cardboard. When he was done he turned the sign, it
read: YARD SALE.
Duo was riding home on the bus he looked out the window and
exclaimed: "Hey, that kid has a model airplane like mine
and that guy has a Snowboard that looks a lot like the one I have at
home..." Duo watch outside the window as more and
more people paraded by carrying items resembling his own he began to
get a slow sinking feeling.

In the hour that it took for me to drive up to the door,

"What did I do Hilde?" Duo asked.
She wouldn't answer, she just scowled at him and slurped up a low-mein
noodle. She had purchased the take out with the
money from the yard sale, Duo didn't have anything, to eat.
"C'mon, why'd sell my stuff? What I do to deserve that?" Duo pleaded.
"You know what you did." Hilde scowled.
"WHAAAATTTT????" Duo asked.

Duo tossed and turned on the hard couch."Ack... there' no getting
comfortable on this thing. Why does she have to get so
mad?"
He grumbled. "I'll never get any sleep this way unless..."
Hilde heard a knock at the bedroom door, she scowled. "I said, I'm not
talking to you."
"Awww... Hilde?" Duo pleaded. He walked in the room. Hilde tried not to
look at him, but he had the sadness look on his
face. "Please honeybabe......" He blinked those big puppy dog violet
eyes her.
She conceded. "Okay..." She smiled. He leapt into bed beside and kissed
her deeply on the lips. She reached for the light. Duo woke up, nice and cozy in his bed, sun light stream through the
bed room window. He looked at Hilde snuggled
under his arm who was yawning, blinking and smiling at him.
"Well, I'm surprise your up this early..." Duo said smirking.
"oh, Duo.." Hilde smiled, She yawned. "Duo could be a dear and get the
paper for me?"
"Right away." Duo bound down the stairs quickly. Everything, was all
right with Hilde.. everything was just fine. HE
opened the front door and grabbed the paper. He looked up to see old
Mrs. Mcmaison walking her dog.
A shocked look grew on her face she picked up the dog. "Fifi don't look
at the disgusting man!" She covered the dog's
eyes, but kept on staring at Duo as walked down the street. Duo felt a
breeze and looked down, then sweatdroped turning
bright red. He heard the door click behind him. Hilde was looking out
the window a smirk on her face.

As I walked, I thought about all that I left behind me
Duo covered himself quickly with his braid.
"LET ME IN!! LET MEEE IN!!! HILDE!!!!"
He shook the door knob. Hilde laughed louder. Duo turned around. There
stood Trowa. "Oh, hi Trowa, good thing your in
the neighborhood you can talk some sense into- Why are you holding our
Garden hose?"
Trowa acting said nothing betrayed no emotion and turned the hose
on....

My mind was racing with each chance that I missed
Duo was dressed again he shivered under the blanket. Hilde couldn't
help feeling sorry for him. He looked so pathetic.
Catherinne and Trowa were with her watching. Hilde handed Duo a cup of
broth. "I can't believe you did this to me, Trowa has always pulled this sorta
shit on me but Hilde what did I do to you?"
"What did you to her? What did you do to her?! Duo maxwell you baka!
You cheated on her with Relena!" Catherine
yelled.
"I did what?!" Duo spit out his broth. "Oh, nooo you got it all
wrong......"
"Then what about the caller ID? And why did you all hush up when I
walked in the diner?" Hilde asked.
"Oh, that well you see Hilde. I asked Relena to help me with some
flowers for you she knows more about those kinda
things then I do." Duo said.
"Oh right flowers like I'm gonna believe that load a-" There was a
knock at the door. Hilde answered it and there stood a
flower delivery person with a bouquet of beautiful flowers. "Sign here
miss." Said the delivery person. Hilde signed her
eyes widened in astonished look on her face as she held the Bouquet.
"And what we were joking about was your reaction to this---" Duo Pulled
out a little black box from one of his jackets
opened it and there was a huge giant diamond on a ring.
"Oh Duo...." She cooed. "Can you forgive me?"
"Well, it was pretty rotten but it's forgiven. Though I'll think twice
about crossing you." He said and got down on one knee.
"Now I have a question for you, will you marry me?"
Hilde beamed. "Yes! Of course!"
